COMPETITION OVERVIEW
In this competition, participants must create a movie trailer using any available editing software. The trailer should promote a fictional or real movie (existing or self-created) by combining original footage, creative editing techniques, and music to build excitement and anticipation for the story.
The trailer must be designed to attract viewers and give them a taste of the film’s genre, tone, and key themes. Whether it’s a thriller, comedy, drama, or fantasy, your trailer should hook the audience and make them want to see more!
SOFTWARE & TOOLS ALLOWED
- You may use any video editing software such as:
- Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Sony Vegas, HitFilm Express, iMovie, CapCut, Kinemaster, etc.
- The software used for editing must allow basic features such as cutting, transitions, sound editing, and effects.
- Participants can use stock footage, but it must be royalty-free. Alternatively, you may also use your own original footage or footage created specifically for this competition.
VIDEO REQUIREMENTS
- Length: Trailer must be between 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
- Resolution: Minimum 720p, with 1080p preferred.
- Format: MP4 or MOV preferred.
- Audio: Must include royalty-free or original music and sound effects.
- Aspect Ratio: 16:9 (landscape format preferred). You may use vertical format (9:16) if it fits your creative direction (e.g., for social media style trailers).
- No watermarks from editing software unless it’s a personal logo or brand.
CONTENT GUIDELINES
- Originality: All content used in the trailer, including footage, music, and sound effects, must be either created by the participant or obtained from royalty-free sources. The footage must be original or legally licensed.
- Trailer Tone & Genre: The trailer must be a fictional movie trailer (not a documentary or real event) unless you are promoting a real film that you created yourself. Choose a genre like thriller, sci-fi, romance, horror, drama, etc.
- Editing Style: The editing should be dynamic, exciting, and engaging. Use sound effects, music, and transitions creatively to build suspense, excitement, or other emotions based on your genre.
- Prohibited Content:
- No offensive, discriminatory, or explicit material.
- No deepfakes or misleading representations.
- No use of copyrighted content (unless legally licensed).
