This competition invites participants to create simplified digital illustrations based on real images. The goal is to reduce visual complexity while maintaining the subject’s core identity—translating realism into bold, clean, minimalistic art. This style is often seen in vector portraits, editorial pieces, iconography, and modern branding.

Deliverables

  • Final Illustration

  • Format: PNG or JPG
  • Dimensions: 1080×1080px or 1080×1350px
  • Process File
  • Provide a layered PSD or AI file showing shape and layer breakdown.
  • Submit the original image you based your illustration on.
  • Presentation Layout (Optional)
  • A simple one-pager showing:

Judging Criteria

Simplicity & Clarity – How effectively the illustration simplifies the reference image.
Linework & Shapes – Clean, intentional lines and shapes.
Color Use – Limited palette, contrast, and consistency.
Depth Representation – Minimalist suggestions of depth or form.
Overall Aesthetic – Modern, visually balanced, and professionally executed.


Submission Format

Submit a single folder containing:
Final illustration (PNG or JPG)
Layered PSD/AI file
Reference image
Optional: Presentation board (PDF or image)
File Naming: YourName_House name_student id _GR-SI

  • Ensure all submitted files are clearly labeled

Don’ts

  • Don’t trace mindlessly—interpret creatively
  • Avoid gradients, photo textures, or excessive details
  • No AI-generated content
  • Don’t use copyrighted material without permission
  • Late submissions will not be accepted
